I just picked up the new Enigma album called Cross of Changes today,
and so far it is great. I'm listening to it right now, but I've only
gotten to track 6 so I'll post a full review later. Just a few
comments to begin with, it's much more melodic and demonstrates a
much better composition skill than their first one. Curly is great
at combining classical sounds (choir, orchestra, vocals) with deep
beats and ambient noise to create a unique tapestry. The first album
was very predictable, simply because they used pretty much all of the
same sounds in their songs. This one is very different in that
aspect. There's a lot of variety. You'll still hear the occasional
classic Enigma sound, but it's not near as repetitive. So far, I
give it a 9/10. More info later...
