Okay, now that everyone is back from break, I have a question for the
more experienced DJs out there.
What is the best plan of attack to get various record companies to send
you free promos?
To give you an idea of my background, I've only been into DJing
seriously for maybe six months, but I have a radio show on a college
station which just got a power upgrade, expanding listenership to over 1
million. The station has a fairly big techno following, considering the
general lack of raves and techno listening in Pittsburgh.
Should I call? Should I write lots of letters? What's the best pitch
to give them? Who should I be talking to, address letters to, etc?
Any advice is appreciated.
