i received this message privately but i figure i should probably expose my point better (as, for some reason, it doesn't make immediate sense to some of the geniuses out here.)

for the record: if your intent was to count only 'official' releases, then you should have said so. certain cdr releases were official releases offered for sale to the general public & not just promo copies. by putting cdrs out of the loop altogether, you're only contributing to the old idea that 'it's not real until a label's put its pawn on it' which is absolutely false. releases from phthalo, saundart, pitchcadet, monotonik, tomas jirku, lexaunculpt, etc. have been available _this year_ on cdr format for the general public to purchase: they are indeed _official_ & they deserve some fucking credit. & i'm not even going to get started on mp3. ~ david --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
