I saw them in Lavery's in Belfast, which seems to have reinvented it's
middle bar as a rawk venue. Fantastic gig. They were supported by DJ
Scotch Egg, who did an over the top gabber / cheese / noise set, which
was just long enough not to not push it over the edge from entertaining
to excruciating. Lightning Bolt arrived late, and by the time they'd
actually set up their stacks it was past midnight, I left at half one
and they showed no signs of slowing down....
A word of advice - because they play on the floor of the venues you have
a choice of
- being right next to them and being deafened and pushed about etc but
actually able to SEE them
- hanging back near the bar and listening but only catching glimpses of
doing their thing
