Keith Tucker Lifeform EP (Puzzlebox/US) TECHNO Straight up, this is a most *important* release. Not just another case of 313 techno bass history in the making, with "Face Your Fate," the reported first ever battle record in the genre, nor for the obviously punctual UFO reference of "Area 51" and it's accompanying in-space-throwing-shapes Alien euFMisms! Deeper still goes the further adventures of the K-1 agenda, with a dedication, "...to the life and spirit of Gerrold Simms." Rest in Peace. (Teep) Ballet Mechanique Borrenbergs II (Eevo Lute/NL) TECHNO Disregard the cheeky concept titled intentions, this is not a record which will facilitate my trip to the little boys room for a tinkle. Leaders of the intelligent dance music new school, Eevo Lute Muzique cast another Ballet Mechanique twelve inch of distinguished 'one man band' brand techno drama, performed with pirouetting progressive percussion and tippy toes melodic twists and turns. Each act (Where's the DJ, Vinyl Voyage, and Diamond Cut) require your undivided attention. (Teep) Drexciya The Quest (Submerge/US) TECHNO For those few techno bass heads like myself who have been navigating the aquarhythms of Drexciya from their very first surfacings, there really was no doubt in our minds with regard to question, "should we fish this 2CD of previously released material out of the www.submerge.com record pool?" Aside from defending an infallible Aquazone dissertation, "Bata Particles, Hydro Cubes, and the Bubble Metropolis" the promise of deep sea diving into 10 original/exclusive uncharted waters, (with promising titles like Dead Man's Reef and Vampire Island) provided more then enough enticement. Each journey here does not disappoint, rather, enchant the imagination as you "Decompress" in the frosty tops of the "Neon Falls," or splash around in the doubled up low ph white water of "the Aquabon remix". Truth told, on "the Red Hills of Lardossa," one minute you are basking in the "Antivapor Waves" pool side and the next gasping in the agitated wake of Doctor Blowfins's water cruiser. (Teep)
