The festival included sets from most of skams artist roster, (including me). I also returned to the 2004 event to dj as the final act, closing the festival. Played at the opening ceremony for the 'European city of culture' lille, france. 2003. the music was channelled to soundsystems all around the city, to an estimated total audience of 500,000+ people. Toured uk/ Europe/ usa/ Canada/ japan again with autechre (and snd) on their 'untilted' album tour, april - june 2005. ------------------ Señor Frio (live - 1/2 of Ainu) [Narita, Toast & Jam, Panzen] - from Portland Señor Frio is one half of Portland's dynamic electro-duo, Ainu, producing electro and techno tracks for nearly 4 years now. Playing live, armed with a laptop and two drum machines, Frio brings a continuous mix of beats, bass and electrofunk blippiness. Frio's solo style still holds its roots in electro, yet incorporates the elements of downtempo, house, idm and techno. Having played solo gigs at Holocene, KPSU, Noir, Night Light and Lower The Chapel in Seattle, Frio has honed his skills at engaging the listener with his own brand of techno-eroticism while gaining supreme knowledge in rocking the dance floor, performing with the Spandecks Syndicate and along side techno virtuosos Let's Go Outside and Yard. Señor Frio's first release will be coming soon on the Terminal 2 12" on Narita. Some may think the machine music is cold but Señor Frio es muy caliente! ------------------ Yard (hdj set) [SKAM, Narita, Plong!] - from Chicago: Yard hails from the dark woods of Portland, Oregon. Brought up in the shadow of the northwest forest and transplanted to the urban 4/4 of Chicago's underground techno scene, Yard's gritty techno evokes gnarled city life to organic atmospheres. Yard has performed throughout the US with artists such as Brothomstates (Warp), Adam Johnson (Narita), Solenoid (Orac), Machinedrum (M3rck), Jacen Solo (Ai), and Accelera Deck (Scarcelight) in a variety of environments from a club setting to outdoor festivals. In 2005, he dropped a 12" on Narita (UK/Miami) and a handful of carefully picked compilation appearances, including Skam Records (UK). Yard has been remixed by Adam Johnson, Arctic Hospital (Narita) & Area (ihatework) and remixed Adam Johnson, Arctic Hospital & Area. 2006 begins with a release on Yard's own Yard Rec, a spring US tour, and a release on Plong! this year. discography: http://www.discogs.com/artist/yard+(2) webpage: http://yard.tandjrec.com ------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
