SLO.BOR MEDIA NEWS | MARCH TWO-THOUSAND AND SIX
hymns fortheafterlife // Released date March 13, 2006
hymns fortheafterlife, the newest release by jason.sloan is set to be
released on March 13, 2006.
The first 15 copies come with a limited bonus DVD featuring a re-edit of a
telematic performance work which debuted this past december at the
brazilian biennial. This ritualistic and meditative work included with the
initial copies of hymns fortheafterlife is a special re-edited version
created for looped gallery viewing.
There will only be 15 signed and numbered copies with this dvd so if you
want this edition act quickly as we expect them to be gone by weeks end if
not sooner.
The cd clocks in at close to 80 minutes and features five new tracks:
[brokenSKIN]
[bledOUT]
[leftwithoutGRACE]
[beyondgodandHEAVEN]
[absentatthealterofBEYOND]
hymns fortheafterlife has been called jason's masterpiece. It draws upon
his period of space/ambient work [space between beginnings & still] and
the textural, almost shoegaze approach to later recordings [winterwomb & a
white, bleeding silence] to create an emotional and conceptually charged
listening experience. This is one of jason's most personal works to date.
Pre-orders are currently being taken for this release which will be
shipped on march 13th. Head over to the store section of
www.jasonsloan.com to place your pre-order.

Special Note on the Future Direction of SLO BOR Media
The SLO.BOR media agenda is changing and our artist roster is growing.
Our recent digital distribution deal has reinvigorated our efforts. In the
future, look for a lot more releases like this -- a short-run of
intricately hand-assembled, handmade releases, followed by exclusively
digital releases. Some of you have told us that you like our packaging
efforts, the majority of you just want the music. Jason and I have found a
way to maintain our initial mission with SLO BOR Media while at the same
time making the music readily available at a low cost. So with that said,
if you are an artist and this approach appeals to you, and you enjoy what
SLO BOR is doing please get in touch with us regarding your work. And for
our patrons, thank you, thank you, thank you. Your kindness and
generosity allow us to continue to do the work that we love.
Warm Regards,
SLO.BOR media
