i recently sent a friend of mine to see a show in syracuse, where i could
not be... of laptop performers doing 'microtonal' stuff... he saw the show,
thought it was amazing (i guess they were making things like plates vibrate
through low, inaudible soundwaves) but his response was "i liked it, but it
wasn't music."
it was a bit startling to hear how converstive and old fashioned this
statement was (this particular fellow plays drums in a mathy, angular rock
band, not exactly straight-forward at all)... i think while WE might truly
feel like it's just the same damn thing, the bias against instrumental,
electronic music (that isn't party music) might stick around a little longer
than expected.
and i know i've said this before but...
OM AND KIMS DONT STOCK MODESELEKTOR OR KETTLE ...
