i think the same issue exists with all the other microgenres (clicks'n'cuts, minimal tech-
house, folktronica). everyone gets so fixated on their navels, musically speaking. there is
definitely good stuff under all names but people get too caught up in creating new names to
call music only slightly different from something that already exists.
i don't hear much in the way of genres formed or perpetuated by rave, but i guess that exists
on the itunes "electronica" stations and in big clubs (i assume it's what they play on
weekends at wesbster hall in nyc).
personally i am happily listening to several of the tresor CDs i ordered. right now cristian
vogel, but also tobias schmidt and the headquarters berlin comp.
plus i just found my previously missing plastikman CD of 'consumed'. just noticed how
similar the artwork of that is to NIN's "broken" and "fixed". anyway, looking for more
plastikman similar to that album, any suggestions?
