I would have a hard time translating copies of Analord 10 going for close to $300 on eBay as "near apathy". In defense of RDJ, no matter what he puts out now he can't please everybody, nor do I expect everything he does to be as groundbreaking as "I Care...". I do recall quite clearly that the Richard D James record was slagged in many corners when it was released as well. Funny how memory gets selective when one has a point to make. When it comes to IDM, it seems like either the inhabitants on this list are out of touch or else many sites which whiip out "reviews" that feature quotes like the one above are. I'll put my money on the latter being out of sync, for what that's worth. Seems like part and parcel of IDM is indifference to what is thought by 'outsiders' anyway. Elitism is the stuff of most niche-based music nerds in one way or another. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
