Well, I'm re-thinking slightly myself now, since I realise that this isn't essentially a 'review' but more like a 'press blurb' accompanying the release, so its rhetorical function is different, i.e. primary function is to accompany the music textually, rather than *appraise* it. However, that said, you might draw website visitors in a bit more by supplementing the 'poetics' of personal narrative with some objective indicators, meaning some musical/sonic reference points would be useful *before they listen*, however generic or 'shorthand' they might be.
