Beyerdynamic DT231.
Not too big and bulky. Not very expensive and sound good.
Ideally suited for your needs, I would say.

Subject: [idm] Headphones for the office
The department has just decided to give me a computer on my desk, and as
a bonus it comes with working sound.
So... can anyone recommend some reasonable headphones suitable for use
in an office environment - in particular, ones with very low levels of
escaping noise (so as not to annoy my officemates) and preferably not
requiring any sort of preamp.
Thanks
David

"And then what do they do?"
"Er, quadratic equations mostly, sir. Fiendishly difficult ones by all
accounts."
