Thanks for the heads up. I don't think there's any other musical genre as open to questioning as IDM ! A kind of eternally questioning introspection. That said, although no music comes from nowhere and Amon Tobin has never been a "purist", I wouldn't rate "Long Stories" as "IDM". Organs, Mellotron, rotary speakers, mallets, electric piano, modular bleeps, phasey analog strings and so on : all these ingredients qualify it as an assertive homage to progressive rock, closer to Pink Floyd than Warp Records in my opinion. Listening to this album didn't really move me, but the production level is highly impressive. Amon Tobin has come a long way.
