I don't know or care which of this is IDM or not; this is music I love,
though.
Plaid would be high on my list; Boards of Canada, obviously. My Bloody
Valentine's "Loveless", and for that matter large bits of Sonic
Youth's "Daydream Nation" - both indie loosely speaking, but don't let
that put anyone off if they haven't heard either of them.
Nearly everything on Morr Music, I'm guessing - the "Blue Skied an'
Clear" comp's one I really like, but particularly "Faking the Books"
by Lali Puna springs to mind. Ulrich Schnauss's two albums are summer
records for me too.
The Album Leaf, "In A Safe Place", I echo - and I'd add Tortoise's
"It's All Around You", which is in a vaguely similar vein.
Fennesz, "Venice" (someone's already mentioned some things by him).
For IDM influenced pop, I'd plug Air's "Talkie Walkie", and I'd put
Bjork's "Post" in there on the slim offchance anyone hasn't heard it
already :)
Maybe Four Tet's "Rounds" or M83's "Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost
Ghosts?"
Just some ideas,
Andrew
