Jesus H. Christ - I'd hate to suffer ANY form of diarrhoea that sounded or felt like Untilted. If you have been so unfortunate, you have my deepest sympathies. Seriously though, my initial reaction to the new Ae was similarly negative, but after five or so concerted listens my sense of it began to cohere into something challenging and remarkable. I wouldn't claim to have assimilated it - lord forbid, but I do find it remarkably visceral, detailed and just like the live experience its refusal to lock into anything as predictable as straightforward melody or groove or even texture keeps me returning again and again. So that's my tuppence ha'penny - personal application and a willingness to overcome one's initial antipathy/puzzlement may garner significant reward. The best things in life don't come easy.
