I run an "IDM" webcast and Drukqs is one of the few
albums that consistently receives the feedback of "oh
god please no more Aphex Twin". I don't know what it
is about that album (personally I adore it) but
anytime a track comes on from that release people tune
out in droves.
So there you have it, even on an IDM station IDM isn't
all that popular. In fact, I've had to remove most of
the more harsh or frantic IDM because people just
can't take it.
