Good luck. When I lived in Boston from 1998-2001, there was very little in terms of IDM, Techno, or even clubby dancehall crap. The scene was dominated by punk. Every now and then an act would come into town and play at the Paradise or Middle East -- I recall catching the Orb a couple times as well as a really amazing Ozzric Tentacle show once. Negativland once made an appearance at a theater hall -- I wish I could remember where exactly, but it was in Cambridge. I think I remember a dance/techno night at Phoenix Landing in Cambridge, but am not sure if it held up forever. I repeat, the scene was dominated by punk. I eventually grew to hate it. If you do ever get a chance to see Specimen 37, do it. They are from Boston and gig pretty regularly. They're probably one of the more interesting acts to come out of there in years. -- Mark Schieldrop | Reporter, The South County Independent mark@schieldrop.net| mark.schieldrop@gmail.com (401)789-6000x222 office (401)374-4121 cell (401)608-2037 home --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
