ok, i should have figured some other EN fans would pop out...i
should have qualified that by saying "early EN" or "most 80s EN".
obviously, i'm not talking about anything recent.
all i was responding to was calling AE "grating machine music" or
whatever the comment was, and saying EN's version of that is
waaay more harsh and grating. "der tod ist ein dandy"? "tanz
debil"? even "haus der lüge" from 1990 is more
mechanized/metallic factory-sounding than most AE i know. and
the spots where AE does get almost like that, IMO, are on 'tri
repetae' rather than 'confeld', which is much too clean-sounding to
evoke a factory.
and i'm certainly not putting down AE or EN to say any of this, just
that they're in different leagues as far as "metal maschien musik".
