i don't see that as an either/or proposition. i'd certainly heard of
DM before TG, but i probably got into AE through AFX because
"come to daddy" made sense to me as the next step after the
better EBM stuff i liked but which had ceased being good or
progressing anywhere. so to me it's all good stuff...pop, noise,
beats, metal machine music, whatever.
i'd actually like to hear AE remix DM, that would be sweet. their
beats are so rigid, to recontextualize the vocals and hooks with
some crazy crunching glitchy turnaround rhythms would be great.
