Yeah, it's the THORNY TIGERS, son.
String Theory is safely out to pasture (the records are still out there,
hoss .. you best buy em if you haven't), but we weren't satisfied to
just put away our toys and go to bed. Apathy is the downfall of many a
laptop jockey so we're breaking out the *real* instruments, recruiting
some other musicians and starting a band.
And that's Thorny Tigers. And this is probably my last post to the IDM
list because really, we're done trying to be Intelligent and Danceable
(nobody really believes either of those terms are applicable anyway,
right?) and we're just gonna make music. Dumb Pop Music. With guitars
and vocals and junk.
The gig at Danny's is more of a transitional situation since we don't
have a drummer yet and trying to do vocals in the sound-system crossfire
at Danny's is just asking for a feedback-induced headache. But we've
borrowed our friend Andrew Duncan from his regular band Ok Go to play
the guitar and we're just going to see what happens. Nate's gonna play
bass-licks on your grave, and I'll be tickling the ivories and wiggling
the cursors. You should definitely come check it out.
