hell yeah. these guys played in Iowa City Saturday night and it was amazing.
Aaron's set was a combination of ragga samples with insane beats
mashed together live, and Society Suckers was pure hardcore insanity,
but musically interesting too. Christian (society suckers) is a
friendly, pleasant guy, who had bruises all over his forehead from
banging his head on the table during his Detroit set.
His Iowa City set involved people swinging from the rafters, chairs
and bottles getting thrown, the DJ table getting pushed off the stage,
and guy on guy dry humping. I never did find the microphone when I
was taking down the sound -- one of the promoters threw it somewhere.
After a few drinks Christian kept talking about wanting to kill
everyone, and at the afterparty he told a cute girl "I would kill
anyone for you, just as long as you show proper appreciation." I
think she showed him proper appreciation, without the need for any
homicide. Best pickup line ever.
