you know- I actually do see that it's a good idea to list your city on an international email list while promoting. It frustrates people if they don't know where it is. However, promoters usually have other jobs and millions of other obligations. They send out this same email to a bunch of different places and messageboards, TONS. It's every time consuming, and they usually only lose money anyway esp. for small niche scenes such as idm.
So it's best to not be such an asshole to them as you were just now. You are not obtaining much peace and equality by being so rude to people who give up a lot of their time to bring music to people in their towns. So what if they forget to edit their emails before they send them to international lists, point taken- they still deserve reserve a ton of respect. ; )
You didn't actually read his response, did you? He got that "I infer
that you're talking about San Fransisco"
More clearly: sf does not mean San Fransisco to some of us on the list
who aren't on the eastern seaboard of the united states of america.
Maybe you could give a damn about people in other countries instead of
being so self centered to think every one understands the locality.
This is the internet, it carries the WORLD WIDE web which is named
because it spans the World. America is not the world. Despite what
Dubya thinks.
