News :::: November 2004 Artists: Audiobulb is proud to announce its association with Robin Judge (Canada) who will be appearing on the forthcoming audiobulb compilation ' Intricate Maximals'. Robin's music focuses on the subtle relationship between rhythm and texture. Robin Judge has released on such labels as Mille Plateaux, Traum and Onitor. She also records as Jirku/Judge for her collaborative project with Tomas Jirku. Robin Judge has performed live at the Mutek festival in Montreal opening for Monolake, Akufen, Ricardo Villalobos and Ritchie Hawtin. She has performed across North America and has toured throughout Europe. Her live shows exhibit the many facets of her musical concepts. www.robinjudge.com Nomination: Switches is one of six albums to be shortlisted in the Qwartz Compilation category. Over 150 compilation albums representing a cross section of independent music producers were put forward to the Qwartz jury. We are honoured to have been recognised by Qwartz and wish them well in their quest to promote the independent electronic music scene. The final award will be based upon a public vote via the Qwartz web-site. The awards, which will take place in Paris next year are designed to generate large scale publicity for independent musicians in an attempt to counter the monopoly of interest generated by major labels. I-tunes: Audiobulb is now I-tunes compatible with deep links embedded through the site to individual tracks and albums. Exhibition #2 can now be bought from I-tunes however we have kept the first two tracks free for access from this site. Future releases from audiobulb will include both CD and digital download formats. With some releases being made exclusively for the digital download market. This dual format will enable audiobulb to release quality music on a more regular basis whilst covering its operating costs. Radio: Audiobulb would like to express its sadness at the news of John Peel's death. John was a force for exposing new music through the medium of radio. Earlier this month John played tracks from Claudia, He Can Jog and Marion on his BBC Radio 1 show. Our thoughts are with John's family at this time. Live: Room is in the line-up for a lap top gig on 10th November at Dulo - London Road - Sheffield. SOPHIA: version 1.1 SOPHIA 1.1 is also featured on the cover CD of Future Music (no. 155). Out Oct 27th. Best wishes from Audiobulb www.audiobulb.com x - reply - remove me
