It?s time to mark those calendars once again as the HEFTY Records cru is
throwing another burnin? party for all of Chicago. Our bi-monthly residency
at Sonotheque returns ? this time featuring two HUGE, rare live performances
and two special DJ sets ? all by HEFTY label talent. If you attended the
August IA party, then you know this is going to be an awesome time. This
will undoubtedly be the best night to party in all Chicago-land. Please

Please note that a Chicago RSVP list option is only open until next Thursday

HEFTY Records, returns with our bi-monthly residency at one of the very best
clubs in all Chicago-land. Our IA events allow us a chance celebrate with
our Chicago friends & listeners, while showcasing our artists and new
releases. We guarantee this IA event will be just as hot, eclectic &
exciting as our August party. For this round, we are celebrating two brand
new Fall releases...in addition to rare live performances from some of the
artists on those very releases. To date, our IA events have seen fun +
wonderful sets from HEFTY artists + friends like TELEFON TEL AVIV, SLICKER,
PREFUSE 73, NOBODY, SHIN TASAKI (Spanova), PULSEPROGRAMMING, etc.

One of our new releases is the single, Bring On Happiness, by new label
signings, L?ALTRA. Creating music since 1999, the core members of L?ALTRA
are JOSEPH COSTA + LINDSAY ANDERSON (a collaborator with artists like
SLICKER, TELEFON TEL AVIV, PULSEPROGRAMMING), along with a large cast of
guest musicians. Together, they create elegiac, blissful pop music that is
gorgeous & seductive. One of the best male/female duos this side of LOW,
GALAXIE 500, YO LA TENGO or SLOWDIVE. For this event, L?ALTRA will perform
as a five piece band playing music from their new single, as well as
unreleased music from their forthcoming album, Different Days, due out on
HEFTY in January 2005. This will be one of their only Chicago-land
performances until the release of their album next year. It?s been years
since their last Chicago gig, so this is not to be missed!

Flying in direct from Pompeii, Italy, we?ll all be treated to the minimal
electronica/tech-funk/dance sounds of RETINA.IT. Making an ultra-rare
stateside appearance, RETINA.IT are old friends of ours, having released an
album (Volcano.Waves.1-8) and three separate singles for HEFTY back in 2001.
Now, they make a return appearance on the brand new IMMEDIATE ACTION #009
12-inch compilation, which is available now. Their minimal electronica
sound is often compared to the likes of PLASTIKMAN, RICHIE HAWTIN, early
AUTECHRE, early APHEX TWIN, and beyond. Hard & dirty...just how we like it.

with their DJ sets. They will no doubt do the same at the November event.
Expect to hear a tasteful selection of white label beats, hip hop,
