I'm new to the group and I've got a question for all of you. What's the
difference between ambient and idm? For years, my friend and I have always
placed music like Boards of Canada, Global Communication, Amythestium, Tosca,
Squarepusher, etc. in the ambient category. But I only recently discovered the
label idm. Is ambient normally considered beat-less (Eno, Tangerine Dream,
Steve Roach, et al)?
