I use SuperCollider (http://sourceforge.net/projects/supercollider) for this. It's an audio-specific programming language rather than an application, so it takes some learning; on the other hand, drum pattern creation is only one of a nearly infinite number of things you can do with it. You can hear some studio tracks done with SC here: http://www.doubtfulpalace.com/artists/Shalmaneser/ Or a short extract of 100% live SuperCollider here: http://cafeshops.com/circularsystem.11038714 (the track "A Pound Of Creation Pie") Or a brief demo of my drum algorithm (just one raw process, not a finished piece of music) here: http://www.doubtfulpalace.com/artists/Shalmaneser/SCBeats.mp3 -- THE DOUBTFUL PALACE Free exquisite music http://www.doubtfulpalace.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
