Starting off as top on my list is that new DIN-ST, making that slow and low booty shake IDM that you can actually dance to music I need to inflict on the writhing bass-heads this summer. Also Akufen-hawaiian wodka party is exactley that, like this goofy russian circus music with that hawaiiian slide guitar sound. And a fuck of a lot easier to mix than most of the "My Way" album. Kinda a wierder (less mangled bad house samples) and more original sound. Okay I think in my old age I'm more of a sucker for refined good dance music like the new Arcola release, Milaneses' "Vanilla Monkey", I mean it doesn't really get all crazy experimental or anything, but it's got some cool kick-drum turned into droning bass sounds that are good, along with this wierd indicipherable sampled voice that sounds backwards masked but isn't. And yeah fun to dance to. I think the world needs good dance music again, not good music to scratch your chin and analyze. Well I guess it needs that too, i'm just not into it right now. I like that "Secret Frequency Crew" single, the kinda sleazy retro electro sound, can't wait to hear the full length. The type of shit that hits your lower belly and makes you all warm and horny. Claro Intellecto has been rocking the speakers lately, I've been getting into the back catalog of AI records and Ghostly International stuff. I am a little dissapointed in the "Raiders of the lost arp" full length, mostley for the fact that everything else those guys have done is stellar and this is kinda mediocre retro stuff that doesn't have that really interesting twist thrown in there that Jolly Music and Mat-101 has. The 09 Church of the ghetto PC album lives up to the hype, what I've heard of it so far, seems like it has a lot of depth to it. Finally, seeing Richard Devine live fucking blew me away, towards the end it got a little noise jam but the kind of energy and sounds that guy pulls into a live set is unreal. When he gets into the 5.1 stuff it's all over, I can't wait to hear that shit. Also this video piece that was on exhibit of his was insaneley cool psychedelic madness, an apt rendering of some of the hyper-dimensional fractal planes I've visited. He kinda sucks as a DJ, or isn't really all that interesting, but then I think everyone has to suck at something. Uh, that new Irish film "Intermission" is fucking cool, I need to find the soundtrack to that which isn't IDM but is really good music methinks. ===== The apocalypse is now! Americans know this, that the only hope is the flying saucers. Do you know how I see the world? Like a person who is dying. It's a worm who is dying to make a butterfly. We must not stop the worm from dying, we must help the worm to die to help the butterfly to be born. We need to dance with death. This world is dying, but very well. We will make a big, big enormous butterfly. You and I will be the first movements in the wings of the butterfly because we are speaking like this.~~ Alejandro Jodorowsky __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
