I don't agree. A strange line of text - one that personally irks the listener -
is as annoying as an anticipated scratch on a vinyl record with such damage,
and can ruin the entire recording. The difference: one can replace a scratched
record, however, one has to trash the Proem.
It's odd, listening to a Sister Nancy record, 'One Two', on cd, and
~not~ hearing the scratch on the disc that's on my vinyl copy:
an different take on 'phantom pain'.
