So did you just escape as soon as you had the opportunity? After being in the Dakotas I always wondered about kids who pimp different - how do you survive? How did you even find IDM?
I grew up in city / suburbs and we were always bored. Anything slightly different piqued our interests...

Haha... I grew up in Fargo.
The only place I know of that's still around would be Vinyl Connection
on First Avenue just west of Broadway. They used to carry some decent
stuff, though mostly dancier or harder. I used to buy some IDM at
Discontent (back when it was still Disc N Tape), mostly at the Moorhead
location (like Main + 8th)... I'd ask Jim at Vinyl Connection, he'd
probably know the most about what's going on scene-wise, though I'm
guessing it's not much.
