out of winnepeg canada, venetian snares has been smashing things up
in the hard electronics scene with an amazing series of albums that have
destroyed and nearly single handedly rebuilt the perception of hardcore
electronic
music. his sound is rooted in hardcore, jungle and noise - commonly referred
to
as breakcore - but vsnares takes it far beyond the stereotypes of these
styles, using
constantly changing non-4/4 time signatures, unique and bizarre samples as
well
as plenty of energy that crushes the dancefloor. over the past 4 years he's
garnered alot of noteriety for his evolving sound, and has put out albums at
an
amazing rate, and have touched on everything from punishing noisecore to
jungle mockery to introspective ambient to complex funky jazz breaks.
also on the bill are enduser and line47, who run the sonicterror label out
of
cincinatti. they'll be playing partially individual sets, and partially a
collaborative
set as their collective project "machine girl". enduser touches on hardcore
dancehall
and broken beat, while line47 blends dense, sweet melodies with cut-up
breakbeats.
we'll also have local ROTFLOL!, who when not working on hilarious/bizarre
zines and art with the paperrad crew, he performs post-acid post-rave
video-game
electronics.
filling out the bill, your host cutups will be filling things out with a mix
of cracked abstract electronic dance from electro to breakcore to
pop-electronics,
to bridge the gaps.
