thought i'd share some of the things i've been enjoying this last year. PREFUSE 73 - one word extinguisher did anyone not enjoy this album? EMOTIONAL JOYSTICK - bellicose pacific the progeny of squarepusher. hope no one missed out on this. MF DOOM - vaudeville villain cardassians and hip hop. nuff said OTTO VON SCHIRACH - chopped zombie fungus otto's the king of idm !! go ahead and bow before him now. FARMERS MANUAL - rla dvd _days_ worth of live recordings by, and various remixes of, this amazing group. the live setting really suits the fm sound, and there's too much top quality stuff here to mention. EIGHT FROZEN MODULES - the abduction of barry spastically fabulous. HECKER - sun pandamonium self aware, perfectly crystalized sound. this was the direction i thought autechre might go after confield. CHRIS CLARK - empty the bones of you his first showed some potential, here he destroys that potential and says "now here's a fucking album". SHUTTLE358 - understanding wildlife this album, along with optimal and frame, feel like a progressive whole to me. music for isolation. NICK FORTE - pasted lakes he was gonna make an album, but it wasn't turning out, so he chopped it into bits and here's what was reassembled. is that how it went? whatever, it worked. GRIDLOCK - formless fine brooding ambient, a cinematic album; maybe their best work. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
