What's up with WinAmp?
For years and years I've been extremely happily been using Winamp 2.x
and just went to check for some new skins and BOOM! only a brand new
page touting their new look WinAmp5.
There's a WinAmp5 Pro for which one must pay and a downloadable free
version with fewer bells and whistles, but I got an error page when I
attempted to dwnld it. Even if you search Google for Classic Winamp,
you still get redirected to the new v5 page.
So I'm going to continue using WinAmp 2.91 (great player and I have
no reason to complain) - was that the last available freeware
release?? I did get WinAmp3 a year or so ago, but it was buggy and I
uninstalled it again.
What is everyone else here using? I'm encoding mainly .ogg files now
- is there a superior Ogg Vorbis player around? Again, I'm perfectly
happy with WinAmp's performance... just wondering if I'm missing the
Next Big Thing ;-)
