I should point out that "their" sound is now "his" sound.
Metamatics used to be Lee Norris and Claire from Clear/deFocus, if i remember correctly. but now, it's just Lee Norris.
the best Metatmatics, far and away, is Midnight Sun Pig on Dot. Fantastic, tight, sparse drum programming combined with wickedly playful, sometimes goofy melodies. a VERY cheerful album.
Death to Passwords... is good, but it can't touch the Pig. Death is also a bit more ambient, and frankly a bit more sad, in many respects. i don't really think of it as a cheerful album, so much.

I only have one of the releases on clear and I believe their sound has matured substantially since then. There's a lot more going on in their songs now - much deeper and more developed. Almost as if it's been 10 years since those Clear releases ;-)
