Fibla – Lent Listening to Fibla's Lent, I can't help but think of a construction line. The kind with big robotic arms that swing from frame to skeletal frame attaching soft, almost childlike melodies to fuzzy bass synths with glitchy taps and clicks flying off like blue sparks. These robotic arms are all fully in time with each other, all moving in rhythms which can range from playful to strictly mechanical and mathematical, adding their own unique sound as the main bulk of the tune passes them. Then there's Fibla's jigsaw beats, which he seems to add and take from at his own discretion, almost playfully in parts, yet each piece fitting perfectly with the next. Deeper and more complex then his first album (Landscopes) with some tunes feeling like a mass of wires and computer components, ready to be explored and entangled in until you find floating xylophones and faint distorted voices. There's still the trademark Fibla tunes which you can't help but smile and nod your head to, but make no mistake, Lent is a far more serious album and one that'll need continued exploration. http://www.sparkreleases.com ________________________________________________________________________ Want to chat instantly with your online friends?
