One problem is that this can be kind of subjective. Sometimes it goes to the level of a religious war. If you ever want to start a flame war on a rave list, just ask what the difference between jungle and drum&bass is. I was going to suggest Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music at http://ishkur.com/features/music but it seems like he's working on a revised version and took down the original. But I guess you can watch it and wait for the update. The old one was pretty good...though then again a lot of people thought it was crap, and it certainly wasn't objective. I think the best way to learn these sorts of things is to just listen to a lot of different stuff and pay attention to what people say about it. -- Tim Moore --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
