system 7.5?
from my vintage Mac secrets books(your 5300cs hadn't appeared yet):
1. Use resedit to open all the programs and games on your harddrive - look for snd resources. Open a snd resoruce and
highlight one fo
the sounds in the list. A new menu, called snd, appears on the menu bar. It lets you play the sound, and record it.
2. There's always text to speech - always fun to make it curse
3. sndsampler, - which came on the cd with my Mac secrets book - and which I'm attaching to this email. It's only 464k so it
should
get through to most people. (ok, so yell at me for sending it to the whole list)
You may need to upgrade your os to run whatever you do find. Depending on your ram, you can go up to OS9, maybe the first
version of
X. Around there Apple abandoned the 603(x) archtecture for the G architecture. However, you can only go up to 64meg of ram,
and the
cpu bus speed is only 40MHz, which may leave you waiting for throughput.
Other than that, I'm not aware of anything that was out in the late nineties when your machine was released.
Sorry if you already know this, just trying to be helpful.
Hope this helps.
