10pm Professor Vast Record Release Party/Live Performance.
Local artist Professor Vast performs a live set of "Vast Electrotech" at
Transmission. Try to envision a cross between early-1990s dreampop mixed
with techno rhythms and you might be able to hear the sound of Professor
Vast in your head-- lush and atmospheric yet fully intended for a dance
floor experience. This is also your chance to win a copy of Professor Vast's
new cd, Neon.
Remember those days of listening to My Bloody Valentine and bedroom
dancing to The Orb and Future Sound of London?
Professor Vast is sort of like that-- guitar madness meeting techno
beats for a psychedelic dancefloor experience that almost harks back
to your high school days, but is still completely modern. So put
down that tattered copy of Sassy Magazine and come down to
Transmission for a free show and dancefloor mayhem. The Professor
will perform at 11:30, with give aways of his new cd, Neon, to follow.
