I've had problems with CDRs in everything from my roommates old car stereo to my Pioneer CDJ-700S.
My CD burner spins at a max 24x. I have found that if I burn CDs at 8x or slower, they work in every CD player in my house and in roommates cars, etc. with almost no trouble. 4x guarantees no trouble whatsoever.
It take a bit longer for them to burn, obviously, but at least they work.
I have no idea as to the technical reasons why this works, as I'm no computer pro, but it has consistently done the trick for me.
