ah...matey....funny post :) just thought i'd answer your question about the "calling the spirits" type thing. i love IDM and used to do SHIT LOADS of drugs. now i am one of those "wierdos" (i used to think that too) who goes out on nothing (not even drink). i still dance my tits off the only problem being that as i am not WIRED 2 the eyeballs on crystal meth i get tired after a while....... but i love the music so much that i can't leave the dance floor......SOLUTION........ i slowly swing and wave about, concentrating on the other noises instead of the beat.......CONSEQUENTALLY dancing in this bizzare "calling of the spirits" style! case closed? nick

To clarify, I have no qualms with >people dancing their ass off however they like at any show - people should >dance - it makes the whole experience more enjoyable (I know I was getting >down). The issue I was trying to address is this recurring phenomena of >people doing this Tai Chi 'calling of the spirits' thing at IDM shows >(maybe >they do that dance everywhere and I only see them at IDM shows?). For one, >it strikes me as odd that a music so rich with rhythm inspires folks to do >this slow-motion psychedelic martial arts thing.
