MATTHEW DEAR reinvents genre standards. Inspired by pioneers of the minimal
German sound like Mike Ink and Thomas Brinkmann, Matthew's productions are
abstract, retaining a dancefloor aesthetic, resulting in a sound new and
compelling.
His latest releases as JABBERJAW (for the genre-pushing German label PERLON)
and as FALSE (for Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva?s Plus8) further proving
his overflowing talent, it's obvious why he was handpicked to open for
Richie Hawtin at the last CONTROL party, and why he will be featured
alongside Richie and Magda at the Plus8 showcase at this year's MUTEK
Festival in Montreal (which showcases top cutting edge electronic artists
worldwide). We are honored to welcome MATTHEW DEAR to Chicago for this very

Inspired and influenced by luminary artists such as Thomas Brinkmann,
Matthew Herbert, Akufen/Marc LeClair, and Pantytec, Chicago bred Thomas
Erdmann puts his signature marking on the burgeoning microhouse sound.
Incorporating a multitude of bits, bloops, and loops via live sampling and
sequencing, his live PA results in a funk induced sound that can range from
