The book is nice, very nice. It's about a robot who falls in love with a office worker and his desperation in attracting his muse. autobiographical i assume. The show in Portland backed this up, if you've seen the kid before it is not too different from his regular tours, he played drunk trumpet, that new harmonica piece he does, etc.
plus there was nice a nice candle lit atmosphere with a slide show of the book and bingo, plus many moments to get it on. The duel with p-love at the end to MJ and PM duet "the girl is mine" was classic. They played a bunch of tunes from the CD from nufonia at the show. i'm not sure if the show would be worth $50, but for $10 it was a very nice value...
The cd is good, pretty short (under 20 minutes). i haven't had a lot of time to let it soak in yet. Strange enough, it almost reminds me of the raymond scott soothing sounds for baby series. with turntable patterns/rhythms/samples and various keyboards and electronics. each track goes along with a page or incident in the comic. looking forward to kids new album in the fall.
any more words on the new prefuse 73? has anyone picked up the newest pulseprogramming record? just curious...
