i saw kool keith in kc, mo last semester. tim dog
from ultramag kept saying, "how many of y'all wanna
hear kool keith straight off the dome" and then black
elvis, complete with wig, did phunky phresh rhymes
like this, "blocka blocka, to the tip toppa toppa,
chocka chocka, flocka flocka, blocka blocka blocka,
etc." intermittently yelling "wooo, lorda" like
southern preachers. pure genius, and wildly
entertaining. if i didn't know he was making fun of
everybody and everything, i would have thought it
quite not worth the 1 1/2 hour wait after the opening
act. dr. octagon still one of the all-time faves,
tho.
