99.9% reviewers have so much fun dissing everything he does on claro and on
qtio. it is also very obvious that they havent bothered listening to any of
it.
This is very true. I did exactly the same thing. Some of the reviews are so
blatantly written by idiots who've heard about "IDM" third hand and have
intro-scanned the 'Claro' album and just passed it off as an Autechre/Boards
Of Canada/Plaid clone. Even though it bears NO RESEMBLANCE WHATSOEVER to
Boards Of Canada or Plain in my opionion.

never heard of a tune let alone made one. that simply isnt true. the
statement doesnt work in any way. there's tunes, theres even strings, theres
melodies, basslines, the whole thing. and certainly arranged in a very
musical, very thoughtful way, with a special edge you only get when you put
yourself into it. everything he does has his own sound in it.
Also all absolutely true.

True. More so than some of Warp's more bizarre and diverse recent signings.

him absolutely ignored and shunned as an autechre/plaid/boc copycat (which
he is not.end of discussion)...
...is, I agree, disgusting. I'm actually getting quite sick of hearing that
he's "derivative". I don't think this to be the case at all. In fact I think
the Brothomstates sound is extemely distinctive - you can tell almost
immediately that it's one of Lassi's tracks just from the first few moments.
Of course, far be it from me to suggest that, rather than being
"derivative", perhaps he may have been influenced by other artists. Saying
an artist is derivative and then not backing it up with evidence is simply
offensive.
And in any case, you'd think people would be glad that other artists were
being influenced by the likes of Autechre or Plaid.
