I certainly see signs of being derivative. Doesn't make me right or
wrong, though. That's how i see it, and it's not like I've jumped the
gun, I've listened to Qtio, and ESPECIALLY claro dozens of times.
There's some sweet tunes on it. It certainly forge new passageways
into music and sound, though. The structures, melodies, and textures
are all very rehashed. He may not intentionally copycatting, but
through simple osmosis and picking and choosing what he likes through
his influences, it comes off that way to me. sorry. and i'm sober,
btw. and i listen to a lot of music, including yours (which i'll admit,
you have more originality in style than brothomstates, easy).
on a good note, there's a really nice track on the penguin mechanics vol
3 by brothomstates, called "not kava" I think. one of his better songs.

its a subjective issue. you're not necessarily right if theres a lot of
people in the other camp. and neither am i.
