Whether or not the rant was justified, THIS is a good point. Exactly how old was that most recent space shuttle? I believe it was the first space shuttle in orbit - in 1981. I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty damn careful about sending people up into space in 20-plus-year-old bits of metal. My car's about that old, and I would be nervous about using it for a cross-country road trip... ...And before anyone pounces on me, yes - I'm sure NASA were very careful in terms of checking the craft out, upgrading, repairs, etc, but they obviously weren't careful enough. *shrug* Oh well. At least it has lead to a resurgence of shuttle jokes. Mostly ones recycled from last time, but still... What does NASA stand for: Need Another Seven Astronauts. ;) -- kjf ________________________________________________________________ Get your own evilemail.com address at http://www.evilemail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
