The Oskar Sala is one of the few Fax releases that I still listen to a lot. He and Raymond Scott are real heros -- they combined engineering skills with a composer's soul to make music that was unique, yet accessible emotionally. They also both experimented with styles that remind me a whole lot of Autechre and Richard Devine in places. Fax releases being what they are, the Oskar Sala is probably pretty thin on the ground but if you see it, snap it up. And the 3 volumes of Scott's "Soothing Sounds for Baby" are a must, and still in print. On Wed, 12 Feb 2003, Muffin wrote:
