I like "Amlux" a lot as one of Merzbow's newer albums. http://www.musiquemachine.com/reviews/reviews_template.php?id=191 Xinlisupreme is a band you should check out too: http://www.musiquemachine.com/reviews/reviews_template.php?id=195 http://www.musiquemachine.com/reviews/reviews_template.php?id=262 Regards, ________________________________________________ Justin Faase [ jfaase@zeelandnet.nl ] M u s i q u e [ M a c h i n e ] / Multi-Genre Music Magazine www.musiquemachine.com _______________________________________________ ----- Original Message ----- From: visa k To: idm@hyperreal.org Sent: Sunday, December 15, 2002 12:14 AM Subject: [idm] Merzbow Yeah, I've finally got mad enough to consider purchasing something from Merzbow. Rather than buying the whole 200 cd catalogue of his, however, I'm intending to purchase just one album of brutal noise terror. So, to ensure that this one cd is selected with care, your suggestions would be helpful. Naturally the album should be absolute prime Merzbow and diverse enough to make an interesting listen. I've heard '1930' praised quite a lot, would that be a good purchase? 'Tauromachine', 'Music for Bondage Performance 2', 'Venerology' and 'Dharma' have also caught my eye, how decent are they? Then there's the Merzbow and Russell Haswell collaboration 'Satanstornade', which has received a few pretty good reviews, would that be a good pick? I would also be interested in other noise suggestions as well, not just Merzbow. thanks, |visa k.
