i second the emotion on all those listed above and chime in with the
following:
+ night owls 2 (deluxe) - absolutely stunning volume in the series, with
not a duff track...featuring soft pink truth (1/2 of matmos), electric
birds, warmdesk, jetone, emisor, bizz circuits, pan american & more
+ opensource: code - more beautiful electronic warmness from the david
moufang crew & friends, including akufen, jan jelinek, sutekh,
brinkmann, alex cortex and the usual suspects
and on the minimal (and remix) tip:
+ process 'reprocessed' - best remix collection of the year? it's
certainly up there...w/bern, fax, markus guentner, philippe cam, joachim
spieth, jonas bering, tomas jirku, broker/dealer, move di, fairmont & more
+ multiplex 'mixt' - w/mr. projectile, animals on wheels, eu, isan,
monolake, funckarma, herrmann & kleine, kettel, lackluster, phonem...a
virtual allstars of the blip and bleep...
+ triple r 'friends' & 'total 4' (both kompakt) - where kompakt treads,
others follow...the triple r, as mix discs go, is especially inviting,
and doesn't suffer from over-repetition (m. mayer's 'fur immer' is
another fine example of a mix disc done right)...the 4th volume in the
'total' series isn't the best (#3 hits that spot), and nearly veers into
force inc.'s proposed 'digital disco' realm, but is more than worth the
price of admission.
