I caught this show in Toronto last night. P-Love (at least I think it was
him) was DJing when I arrived, playing everything from hip-hop to Britney
Spears (!). Bonobo then did a set that appeared to be a combo DJ/laptop
thing. Prefuse 73 followed, and he looked to be playing live as far as I
could see, but I was way at the back so perhaps there was some turntable
action in there. P-Love was next with a short (15-20 minute)
scratch-oriented set. And finally, Amon Tobin.
Not a bad night. Prefuse's set was the highlight for me simply 'cause I
love his music so much. I probably would've enjoyed it more if the venue
wasn't so fucking packed and if I wasn't such a crusty old fart & shook my
ass a bit more.
