in the states there actually is a procedure to get your domain back but the cost for a small label to do that isnt worth what yr usually asked to stump up to pay in terms of costs & fees to everyone. not sure if the uk has a similar law & even tho the net is international & a few cases have tried to extend us law everywhere else (like the russian guy who got arrested when he arrived in the states for the Adobe Acrobat scenario) it's not clear whether or not this will extend to other places or scenarios. for example, i recently asked somebody from the PRS the Performing Rights Society in the UK whether internet stations in the UK (like http://www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra and http://www.jazzfm.com etc) were going to have to pay CARP rates and they said no because the servers werent located in the States and they were already paying blanket license fees for playing music online & on the air. sorry for being late to jump in on this one, its been a hectic september.
